MUKAH: Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine yesterday visited elderly and sick residents at the Petanak Village Expansion Scheme (SPK), here, under the Ziarah Kasih Tellian programme.
Among those he visited was an elderly person, Nerawi, who had been ill for the past few months.
“Before this, he lived alone and is now being looked after by his niece at SPK Petanak.
“Looking at the situation, help from the Department of Social Welfare is very much needed and this case has also been referred to the relevant party,” he said via a post on Facebook, yesterday.
He hoped that Nerawi would recover and be in good health.
After the visits, Royston conducted an inspection tour of home improvement projects under the Minor Rural Project – Sarawak Poor Home Improvement Project (MRP-PPRMS) Phase Two 2023 for Tellian constituency.
Three home improvement projects in Kampung Petanak Ulu were completed last year. The beneficiaries are Nicholas Mac Fadden Bernerd, Juita John and Rani @ Catherina Eja Rajin.
