SARIKEI: Shirley Ling Jing Shu’s dream of attaining citizenship and MyKad has finally become a reality. Her application has been approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) after years of going through various processes and procedures.

Her father, Ling Chin Chuan, stated that he had submitted his daughter’s citizenship application for many years without receiving any response until the announcement of the 2022 Malaysian Higher Education Certificate (SPM) results.

Subsequently, Ling referred her application to the staff of the Representative Service Center for P.208 Sarikei to seek assistance in citizenship matters.

“The application received a response and the attention of the Sarikei Member of Parliament, who is also the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Datuk Sri Huang.

He advanced the application to the KDN and conducted periodic checks. Thanks to his assistance (Huang), Shirley’s citizenship and MyKad application were approved, and she obtained her MyKad in September at the National Registration Department (JPN) Meradong Branch,” he said in a statement.
