KUCHING: The contaminant liquid issue which has put the hydrogen bus operation into a temporary halt has been resolved.

This was due to the completion of improvement works on Sarawak Energy’s Integrated Hydrogen Production Plant and Refuelling Station by system integrator and technology provider, Linde EOX Sdn Bhd (Linde).

Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin (pic) stated that the hydrogen fuel cell buses are undergoing refuelling testing at the station to fine tune the configuration for both the refuelling station and hydrogen fuel cell system of the buses.

“In order to fulfil its research and development purposes, the state government through Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) will continue to monitor performance tests conducted by the facility.

“Subsequently, the trial run is crucial to ensure sufficient data and information such as performance of the hydrogen fuel cell buses, hydrogen consumption and refuelling time can be gathered reported to SEB and Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC).

“Hence, the hydrogen fuel cell buses are expected to proceed with another set of trial runs from Oct 15 up to the end of the month,” he said in a
statement recently.
