KUCHING: Sri Aman Hospital today received 40 bunk beds, 80 mattresses and 80 pillows worth a total of RM37,600 from Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.

Held at the Sri Aman Indoor Stadium, the symbolic handover was done by Harden himself and attended by health personnel from the hospital led by Osman@Othman Midan and Norafiqah@ Mary Abdullah.

“This is due to the urgent need for the Sri Aman Division Covid-19 low risk treatment centre (PKRC) facility, which is located in the Indoor Stadium in Sri Aman and requires increased patient capacity.

Harden who is chairman of the Sri Aman Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) also urged all parties, particularly relevant agencies, must take a proactive role in resolving any issues in a meeting via Zoom today regarding the current Issues and the current status of the Covid-19 case in  Sri Aman Division.

“Concerning the progression of registration for the receipt of Covid-19 vaccine injection in Sri Aman Division, 79,364 people have registered through Mysejahtera, while only 6392 are qualified but have not registered.

“Dry food preparation services are extended to individuals subject to home quarantine, and the method of distribution will be handed to DDMC Sri Aman in partnership with Ministry of Health (MoH) for the issue of providing food to affected individuals, such as in PKRC, quarantine centre and lockdown,” he said.

The Wellbeing Assistant Minister also advised the heads of departments to cooperate when needed and use the resources available in their respective departments optimally to assist towards the management of Covid-19 patients in the Sri Aman Division.

“All parties must maintain collaboration in the face of the pandemic by taking a significant role in containing the spread of Covid-19.”

“Adherence to SOP is required at all times, residents are urged to register themselves to receive the vaccine immediately.

 “The goal is to immunise the community against Covid-19 virus, thereby strengthening the body’s resistance to the disease and breaking the disease chain.”

In another matter, DDMC Sri Aman has taken note of the application for electricity supply connection at the road blockade (SJR) near Simpang Engkilili after the PDRM consented to move the SJR location post closer to the pole upon being advised by Sarawak Energy Berhad.
