KUALA LUMPUR: FedEx Express (FedEx) has been honoured with the “Best in Community Engagement Support” award during the prestigious “Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2023.”

In its press release, FedEx said that it was the third consecutive time FedEx has been recognised with this award.

“FedEx is recognised for its longstanding efforts in nurturing young talent and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset through the FedEx Express/Junior Achievement International Trade Challenge (FedEx/JA ITC), benefiting over 8,600 students to date in Malaysia.

“Additionally, FedEx received an accolade for its sustainability efforts, collaborating with Treat Every Environment Special (TrEES) and the Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) to rebuild a perimeter wall using sustainable recycled materials. These initiatives are part of FedEx Cares, a global community engagement program that aims to help create a better world,” it said.

FedEx are also grateful to be able to use its logistics network and tap the passion of its team members to positively impact local communities in Malaysia.

The nominees were assessed in areas such as clear CSR purpose and goals, programme impact, frequency of SCR events, contribution amounts, transparency in reporting CSR initiatives, creative implementation, strength of the CSR team and sincerity and effectiveness of each initiative.

On another note, FedEx Malaysia has recently introduced electric vehicles (EVs) to its fleet, as part of efforts towards its goal of carbon neutral operation by 2040.

FedEx also recognised that sustainability efforts are driven by its culture and investment in people and the communities it has served.
