Betong OCPD DSP Zamry Alli said they received a police report regarding the disappearance of four Toyota Hilux at 7 am on Sunday.

He added the disappearance of the four vehicles had since gone viral on WhatsApp and social media.

Acting on the information, a team from Betong Criminal Investigation Department (CID) were deployed to the scene.

“We found the location of the parked vehicles was on the side of the driveway to one of the longhouses, which is about 1km away.

“The owners had to park their vehicles quite far away as the road to the longhouse was impassable.

“The incident was only realised on Sunday morning after the owners were informed by a resident who happened to be passing the area,” he said.

Apparently, one of the vehicles was found within 1km from where it had gone missing and it is believed to have run out of petrol.

The public are urged to channel any information related to the case to the police.

The public are also urged to consider vehicle theft prevention measures.
