KUCHING: Incumbent assemblywoman Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali has no doubt the Samariang seat will remain a bastion of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the upcoming 12th state election.

Her confidence stems from her track record in the constituency during the last term.

“GPS Samariang is ready. We have been servicing the constituents, not just during the election period but throughout the term and will continue to do so.

“We are not seasonal and we are always there with the constituents through thick and thin, through hard times and good times,” she said when contacted by the New Sarawak Tribune on Wednesday (Nov 17).

Undeniably there were problems and challenges some of which could not be fully settled but we will continue to find ways and means to resolve the grievances and woes of the rakyat in my constituency, she declared.

“A lot has been achieved and this can be clearly seen based on the infrastructure and developments of mosques, church, roads, land matters, houses, waterfront projects … all has been done.

“But despite all of the development and infrastructure, we in GPS see that a lot more needs to be done; hence, we will continue to deliver physical development.”

Hasidah stated that once they get another mandate from the rakyat, they would prioritise important issues affecting the youths.

“Part of the issues that we will focus on is building more affordable houses for the younger generation as well as uplifting the economy of our people, especially the youths,” she explained.
