MIRI: The injured 12-year old boy involved in a collision at Jalan Miri Airport yesterday (Apr 16), is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Miri Hospital.

Contrary to a statement made by Miri City Council (MCC) earlier,  suggesting otherwise, the young boy has not passed away.

According to the police today, he is currently receiving medical treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Miri Hospital.

The boy sustained injuries after a collision involving a Perodua Aruz and a stationary lorry at Jalan Miri Airport , yesterday afternoon.

The victim was the passenger of the Perodua Aruz driven by his father.

His 39 year-old father died at the scene of the accident.

In a statement late yesterday evening, the Miri City Council (MCC) said the council’s contractor was doing its daily routine job at Jalan Airport when the Perodua Aruz rear-ended the  contractor’s lorry.

The council confirmed that a police report had been filed, and the matter is now under investigation by the police.
