SIBU: A man suffered injuries to his left leg when his multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) crashed into a tree along Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman last night (July 1).

According to Andy Alie, the Chief of Sibu Fire and Rescue Department Zone 4, a team of personnel from Sungai Merah fire and rescue station promptly responded to the accident after receiving a distress call at 9.56pm.

“Upon arrival at the scene, the team discovered an MPV that had crashed into a tree along the roadside,” he stated in a press release today (July 2).

Rescue efforts revealed that the 31-year-old victim was trapped in the driver’s seat and had sustained injuries to his left leg.

“After providing initial medical aid to the victim, our firefighters extricate him from the driver’s seat,” he added.

The injured victim was then handed over to paramedics for further medical attention.

“Once the rescue operation was successfully completed, the team returned to the station,” Alie concluded.
