Cops turn entertainers for a day!

SIBU: Policemen, policewomen and children of police personnel here yesterday turned entertainers for a day. They were on hand to entertain the huge crowd of visitors who had turned up for the 210th Police Day celebration held at the Sibu Police Headquarters. The children who were in kindergarten thrilled the crowd with their dance performances while the policemen and policewomen kept the crowd enthralled with their martial art demonstration and flash mob dance performances.

A lot of excitement and fun awaited the public who turned for the 210th Police Day celebration. The police officers and personnel had gathered at the Sibu Police Headquarters as early as 6.30am.

Among the events held in conjunction with the celebration were the inspection of a parade by the Sibu Police chief, ACP Saiful Bahri and presentation of appreciation certificates and gifts to the police personnel’s children who excelled in last year’s Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exam. The celebration continued with the singing of the national anthem, “Negaraku” and the state anthem, “Ibu Pertiwiku”as well as “Sang Saka Biru”.

ACP Saiful Bahri then read a message from the Inspector- General of Police (IGP), Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Khalid Abu Bakar. The 210th Police Day celebration carried the theme “The Police and the Community Are Inseparable”. Dudong State Assemblyman, Datuk Tiong Thai King and Sibu Resident, Hii Chang Kee were among those present at the celebration.
