SK Oil to work towards sustained environment

MIRI: Sarawak Oil Asset (SK-Oil) will continue to contribute towards environmental sustainability in Miri under its corporate social responsibility programme.

Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd’s SK-Oil senior general manager Anuar Ismail, speaking at ‘Enviro-Hunt’ programme held at the Piasau Nature Reserve here yesterday, said: “We hope that this inaugural programme could help raise public awareness on environmental conservation, cultivate a sense of ownership for the environment while enhancing collaboration with local authorities to achieve common goals.

“Besides, this programme is also meant to inculcate a healthy life style in support of Petronas’ MESTIfit4health programme.”

Some 40 participants from seven government departments and agencies here namely Miri City Council, Department of Environment Miri branch, Natural Resource and Environment Board Miri branch, Marine Department Miri branch, Miri Fire and Rescue Services Department, Miri Police, Miri Royal Malaysian Customs Department and Miri District Office.

The participants were required to find clues along the Piasau Nature Reserve (PNR) trails.
 The ‘Enviro-hunt’ programme was held in conjunction with Petronas Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) month for 2018.

Also present was Environment Department Sarawak assistant director (development) Zaihan Lek.
 The programme was flagged-off by Anuar and Zaihan at 8.30am.
