KUCHING: Political analyst Datuk Peter Minos believes that when the election comes along, most Malaysians will support Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“Here is a prime minister who really tries to save and help Malaysians to the best of his ability. I salute him,” he said when contacted today.

He was sharing his thoughts on the prime minister in conjunction with his two-day visit to Sarawak on the 1st and 2nd April.

He noted that Muhyiddin had recently said he wanted Sarawak and Sabah to be treated fairly and equally as well as to be assisted so as to be on par with Peninsular Malaysia.

“This is most welcomed and appreciated. Perhaps, he will say something on this during his trip to Sarawak.”

He said thus far, Muhyiddin had done very well, handling the Covid-19 crisis and assisting affected Malaysians and the national economy all at once.

“No other person can do any better. Calm and cool, he has made good and wise decisions. Thanks to him, Covid-19 is in decline, especially with the rollout of the vaccines.

“Malaysians badly affected and aggrieved are being helped in all possible ways and the national economy has been kept afloat and is now on the mend.”

He believed that once Covid-19 had dissipated, Muhyiddin would do everything to boost the economy.

He said jobs must be created, businesses must be revived and supported, and the people must be guided to shape up for economic recovery. He said many things must be improved, but the top priority was economic betterment and consolidation.

He noted that the United Malay National Organisation (Umno) is now not providing support to Muhyiddin and the party planned to go separate ways during the general election.

“This is bad — treating the prime minister and Parti Peribumi Bersatu Malaysia in such a shabby way — bad political partners.”
