SIBU: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (PNS)Sibu will hold a grandeur book fair, the Pustaka Book Fair, which will take place at its premises in Jalan Tun Tuanku Bujang, Sungai Merah here from Aug 3 to 6.
A press release from PNS Sibu yesterday stated that in conjunction with the book fair, a variety of interesting activities for visitors will be provided for free during the period from 10 am to 6 pm.
The book fair programme is an effort by the PNS to introduce the local book publishing industry from Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia to the public in the state.
“The main objective is to promote books and foster a vibrant reading culture in the community.
“The programme also aims to provide a valuable platform for interaction and networking between publishers, cultural entities and writers.
The fair will feature seven book exhibitors, namely Popular Bookstore, Richmount Book Centre Sdn Bhd, Methodist Book Room, Mind to Mind, Borneo Book Store, FIXI and EZmath.
In addition to the book exhibition, the press release added that visitors of various ages have the opportunity to participate in a variety of interesting activities such as a workshop with popular author Malcolm Mejin, Cosplay Competition, book review as well as several other games.
Not to be left out will be lucky draw prizes to be won.
