RM200,000 for new Seroban bridge

SERIAN: The state government has provided an allocation of RM200,000 for the construction of the new Seroban bridge.

The ongoing construction will witness the transformation of the old bridge to the new Roll Steel Joist (RSJ) type bridge. It is expected to be ready in December.

Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development Assistant Minister cum Tarat assemblyman Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn recently officiated at the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the new Seroban bridge here.

Also present at the ceremony were Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus, Public Works Department (JKR) Serian engineer Ir Christopher George, Serian District Council secretary Constantine Gerald David Jonas and Kampung Seroban village chief George @ Joseph Dandu.

At the same event, Sagah also presented Minor Rural Project (MRP) cheques worth RM115,000 to Serian recipients.

Sagah presents the MRP cheque to one of the recipients.

The recipients were JKR Serian Social Club represented by Ban Chendang for Sports Club activities (RM10,000), Sarawak Federation of Women’s Institute (PPWS) Kampung Sebemban Branch represented by Sabina Alban for PPWS annual activities (RM10,000), Village Development  and Security Committee (JKKK) Kampung Ampungan represented by village chief Lingai Baroak for fund (RM20,000), St Thaddeus Church represented by Alman Damui for church activities (RM20,000), JKKK Kampung Rayang represented by Rosa Ranyah for JKKK activities (RM25,000), and St Barnabas Anglican Church of Kampung Baru represented by Tunet Sain for repairing and upgrading works of Dewan Sukan dan Rekreasi Simali (RM30,000).
