KUCHING: Sarawak Youth Cup squad head coach, Safri Amit disclosed that a rest period during the month of Ramadan will be used to streamline his team.

According to him, he still has a number of issues  – in the several positions – that need to be improved in an effort to strengthen the squad.

Safri said he will utilise the time available for such purposes.

“We’ll be training as usual during the month of Ramadan. The fasting month gives me the opportunity to streamline the squad at several positions,” said Safri recently.

“The players were given a two- week’s leave and will return for training as usual on June 5, adding that the squad will most likely to train in the night.

“We know many players will be fasting … that’s why we propose to undergo training in the night,” added Safri again.

He also revealed that they are looking forward to play in several friendly matches to maintain the momentum.
