KUCHING: The Santubong parliamentary constituency has the potential to be further lifted as a tourism spot.

Caretaker Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said this when met by the media at the Institut Kemahiran Mara Kuching (IKM) today (Nov 5).

She said Santubong has the right characteristics for tourism and all it needs is improvements in terms of its development for tourism.

“Santubong is actually one of the seven tourism belts in Sarawak. That is how I know (it has potential),” she said.

Adding on, she said that Santubong has always been a tourism attraction among the local and foreign tourists.

“Therefore, I hope I can bring a lot more development, and promote tourism, culture, and arts in the area and the whole of Malaysia if I were to be re-elected.

“What’s important is that we have the knowledge on how to develop the area as a tourism spot as I was the Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister before,” she said.
