KUCHING: The Sarawak-China Friendship Run will be held on August 27 at Malaysia-China Friendship Park in Jalan Song here.

The run, organised by Sarawak-China Friendship Association (SCFA) and Kuching Chung Hua Middle School Alumni Association is to promote a healthy lifestyle among the community and to further strengthen the ties between Sarawak and China.

“This special and meaningful run also symbolises a new milestone between Sarawak and China.

“The event will be held in conjunction with the Malaysia-China 50th Anniversary Diplomatic Relationship next year,” said a press release issued here yesterday.

It added that the event is in full swing as the organising committee had visited Xing Weiping, the consul general of The People’s Republic of China here and Mayor of Kuching South City Council Datuk Wee Hong Seng recently and there will be more visits coming up within these coming few months.

“Both Xing and Wee have accepted their invitation and will be supporting the event.

“Besides, the Kuching famous running club,City Joggers’ club will also be the co-organiser of this event,” it added.
