KUCHING: A networking luncheon was held at Círculo Ecuestre in Barcelona, Spain hosted by the Sarawak government to engage with international key players, investors, and government officials.

The event was aimed to explore collaborative opportunities by bringing together a diverse array of industry leaders in an atmosphere which fostered networking and relationship-building.

Minister for Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi who attended the event, emphasised the seamless connectivity that Sarawak provides for businesses looking to establish a presence in the heart of Southeast Asia.

“Sarawak is at the forefront of digital transformation, leveraging technology to drive innovation and productivity across various industries.

“From smart cities to digital agriculture, our forward-thinking approach presents boundless opportunities for tech-savvy investors seeking to capitalise on the digital economy,” said Julaihi in his speech.

Earlier, Julaihi also delivered a special address at the Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC24) in the city.

He was invited by HUAWEI to deliver the address through a media sharing session on international efforts towards digital transformation in Sarawak.

Julaihi and the Sarawak delegation also held discussions and visits with Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson at the Ericsson Pavilion in MWC24 and was interviewed by local media during the visit.
