KUCHING: Politeknik Kuching Sarawak (PKS) collaborated with HERE Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., a specialist in the field of mapping and navigation technology, to host a webinar programme “The Industrial Internet of Things (IoT)’ at its campus today (Apr 7).

PKS director Jamaliah Ahmad who officiated at the webinar, said it was crucial in producing graduates who are aware of technological advances in the industry in order to become competitive and competent in the sector.

She said that the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) entailed automation technology and introduced new challenges to all industries, all of which would necessitate improvements in line with digital transformation in order to stay competitive.

“PKS students should be exposed to and informed about the latest challenges of IR 4.0 and IoT.

“I hope that the TVET webinar will assist and expose PKS students to the digital era of IR 4.0,” Jamaliah added.

The programme featured two speakers, HERE Malaysia’s Ronny Allan Mile and Braga Technologies’ chief Technology Officer Jatmiko Herjati.
