Three schools given protective items

BINTULU: Three primary schools in Jepak constituency received personal protective items such as face masks and hand sanitisers from its assemblyman  Datuk Talib Zulpilip yesterday.

The schools are Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Setulan, SK Kuala Tatau and SK Jepak, with each receiving 500 face masks and 12 bottles of hand sanitiser from the Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman)himself.

At the same time, the Parent and Teacher Associations (PTAs) of the three schools also received a contribution of RM1,000 each from the Association of Wives of Ministers and Assistant Ministers of Sarawak (Sabati) presented by Talib’s wife Datin Dr Zaliha Abdullah who is Sabati honorary secretary.

Talib hoped that the contribution of face masks and hand sanitisers would ensure that students comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines set by the Education Ministry (MoE) and the Health Ministry (MoH) in efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

He also urged parents to remind their children to practise social distancing, wear face masks and always wash their hands to prevent infection or transmission of the virus.
