Three teams from Sarawak win SUDOMO Quality awards

KUCHING: Three Innovative and Creative Convention Group (ICC) teams from the Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) continued the state’s excellent performance at the international level when they won the highest award as well as the gold medal for the SUDOMO Quality Medal Award at the 47th International Convention on Quality Control Group ( ICQCC 2022) in Jakarta, Indonesia recently.

According to news report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the teams were SIRIUS PRIME from the Miri City Council, SASSOKU TECH from the Sarawak Land and Survey Department (Kuching Division) and INNOTECH Q9 from the Sarawak Land and Survey Department (Bintulu Division).

SIRIUS PRIME won the highest award ‘Prime Gold Award’ through an innovation project titled ‘Difficulty in Collecting Arrears of Yearly Assessment Rates’.

Meanwhile, SASSOKU TECH won the gold medal with the project titled ‘Inefficient Method of Volume Determination and Monitoring of Earth Extraction Licence’ while INNOTECH Q9 won the gold medal through the project titled ‘Difficulty in Identifying Measurement Lines During Survey Work in Forest Areas’.

Accordingly, the three awards were presented to the Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg in conjunction with the Closing Ceremony of the High Performance Team (HPT) Retreat 2022 at the Langkawi International Convention Centre, Kedah on Saturday.

For the record, SCS has always achieved great success since its consistent participation in ICQCC from 2011 until now.

This success reflects the culture of innovation that is the basis for civil servants in delivering excellent services to the people of Sarawak.

There were a total of 302 ICC teams around the world that have competed in the ICQCC 2022 from November 15 to November 18 where Malaysia was represented by 103 Quality Control Groups (QCC) involving 407 participants.
