SIMUNJAN: The Program Taklimat Isu Semasa Komuniti Keluarga Malaysia organised by the Information Department is very timely to disseminate accurate and latest information on current issues as well as issues arising from the implementation of new government policies.

Batang Sadong MP Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said, such programme was crucial in order to explain issues of interest to the public.

According to Nancy, in this age of modernization, it was very difficult to prevent the spread of fake news with the existence of social media platforms.

“Therefore, this programme by the Information Department is to remind everyone and also explain that any information received needs to be verified first to ensure its authenticity and accuracy.

“When the leadership of the federal government changed earlier, it had affected the various benefits that should be received by the people, especially in the aspects of development and infrastructure, and we need to learn from this,” she said when officiating at the programme held in Kampung Nanas multipurpose hall here.
