KUCHING: The president for Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) Voon Lee Shan said Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak should concentrate on fulfilling its promises to voters in the last parliamentary election rather than attacking him for purportedly leaving the party.

Voon said in the quest for democracy, PBK would surely contest in the coming state election which is due in 2021.

“But I do not see any reason for the DAP to fear us because PBK, being a new party with no political weapon yet in its arsenal should not worry the DAP so much.

“We were in the news for the past few days only after I was made PBK president and DAP has already positioned their big cannons at our doorsteps,” he said in a press statement yesterday.

Voon revealed that DAP had served him with a show cause letter asking why disciplinary actions should not be taken against him for purportedly leaving the party.

“Perhaps, if I am just an ordinary member of PBK, they may not be bothered with me,” he said.

Voon said DAP should instead go after Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) especially Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) because in past elections, DAP always love to cross swords with SUPP.

He also urged Sarawakians to turn up in force for the 722 Sarawak Day Rally, where “I will call on true blood Sarawak warriors to help Parti Bumi Kenyalang in defending our motherland Sarawak from the onslaught of DAP and their Malaya allies”.

“In the coming Sarawak election, PBK will tell the people of Sarawak to get rid of Malayan parties from Sarawak soil,” Voon said.
