KUCHING: Local entrepreneurs producing local products should pursue business opportunities at the global level by exporting their products to international markets.

Puncak Borneo Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Willie Mongin said promoting and marketing local products to the global market is important to increase business reach and to increase greater business opportunities.

“Selling our products in the global market will open up new opportunities for us and also help in improving our country’s economy,” he said at the Nang Ori Gala Dinner here last night (Jan 28).

In addition, he added, it will also help in increasing the recognition of local products at the international level and provide opportunities to trade with large companies around the world.

However, he said, in order to pursue business opportunities abroad, local entrepreneurs need to be prepared to learn about different markets and ways to trade with different companies.

According to Willie, this can be done by taking relevant courses or by visiting different markets to see the opportunities that exist.

In this regard, the former Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities urged local entrepreneurs to always look abroad and pursue business opportunities abroad.

“As entrepreneurs, we all know that running a business is not always easy.

“We are always faced with different challenges, from financial problems to management problems, from market problems to production problems.

“However, successful entrepreneurs are those who are able to overcome these challenges and move forward.

“The business world is constantly evolving, necessitating the adaptation of local business owners.

“Those who are unable to change and adapt to change will be left behind,” he pointed out.

Therefore, he said every entrepreneur should continue to learn to change, should always strive to improve themselves and their business and should always strive to find new ways to face and overcome challenges to increase profits.

He praised the efforts of government agencies such as MARA and the Malaysian Pepper Board (MPB), as well as hypermarkets that have provided support to local product entrepreneurs.

MARA, MPB, and the hypermarket have provided financial assistance, training, guidance, facilities and business opportunities to entrepreneurs who need them.

Willie added that, with the assistance given, many entrepreneurs have successfully gone through the challenges they faced as well as growing their businesses.

“I hope these government agencies will continue to provide support to entrepreneurs in the future because this will help entrepreneurs to continue to grow and improve our country’s economy,” he stressed.

According to him, entrepreneurs play a very important role in the development of the country’s economy and the wellbeing of families and communities.

He went on to say that entrepreneurs not only help improve the national economy by creating job opportunities but also play an important role in infrastructure development and social development.

A successful entrepreneur, he added, was able to make a significant contribution to community development by providing goods and services needed by the community as well as financial contributions to the community and charities.

“By owning a successful business, entrepreneurs can provide a stable income for their family, ensure that their family’s basic needs are met, and provide opportunities for self-development and education,” he said.

He also touched on the need to have a strong spirit, the ability to adapt to business trends, and be innovative and creative in entrepreneurial work.

“Successful entrepreneurs are those who have a strong spirit to succeed, who are always adapting to change, and who are always looking for new and innovative ways to overcome all challenges.

“Strong spirit is something that is very important in business because without it, people will easily give up in the face of challenges.

“Successful entrepreneurs are those who always strive to achieve their goals, even in the face of great challenges.

“The ability to adapt, innovate and be creative is also very important in business because the business world is constantly changing and requires entrepreneurs to always adapt to change.

“Successful entrepreneurs are those who are always looking for new and innovative ways to overcome challenges and increase their profits,” pointed out the Puncak Borneo MP.

In addition, he said successful entrepreneurs are those who are hardworking and always optimistic.

“Successful entrepreneurs are those who always strive to achieve their goals and are always optimistic because successful entrepreneurs are those who always think positively and have a good view of the future,” he added.

Therefore, he called on Nang Ori product entrepreneurs to continue with a strong spirit, adapt to change, innovate and be creative in their respective work and to always be diligent and optimistic in achieving their business goals.
