KUCHING: Young entrepreneurs should be brave in facing challenges in order to succeed, advised SK Tiong Group of Companies’ Chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Tiong Su Kuok. He said in the process of transformation, fear would turn into courage and courage would turn into power and competitors would become friends.
“It takes a lot of courage and struggle, and also you will face many difficulties and risks but these are all just part of success,” said Tiong in his speech during the 60th anniversary celebration of SK Tiong Group of Companies held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching last Sunday. He said in his earlier days of entrepreneurship, he had to rely on his own strength in order to improve.
“Improvement, progress, integrity, perseverance, determination, and responsibility are the six elements of success,” he stressed.
Recalling his past 60 years in entrepreneurship, Tiong also pointed out that human resources were the most important forces in any company.
“Human resources are important forces and they are the ones who run the operations,” he said, adding that creating a workplace with a sense of belonging would make the workers feel appreciated.
