Award winning LCDA recognised for sustainable devt efforts

KUCHING: Land Custody And Development Authority (LCDA) wins the prestigious ‘GLC of the Year – Community at Heart’ Award in the government-linked companies (GLC) category at the Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2023.

According to a statement by LCDA, it managed to earn the award through its commitment to promoting community well-being, social impact, and environmental sustainability through its ‘LCDA Prihatin’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

It added that this recognition highlights LCDA’s unwavering dedication to fostering social change and aligns perfectly with Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategies (PCDS) 2030, focusing on economic prosperity, social inclusivity, and environmental sustainability.

Meanwhile, LCDA senior manager of Corporate Affairs Division Saiful Bahari Amra Ramly noted that the LCDA’s CSR programme encompassing health, education, and welfare activities has been a game-changer for the communities in Sarawak, especially during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He explained that through this programme, LCDA has been able to address critical societal challenges and uplift countless lives and going forward, it remains committed to making a difference by initiating community-driven projects that have a positive and lasting impact on the lives of many.

“We are deeply honoured to receive the award and this recognition serves as a testament to our tireless and continuous efforts in promoting sustainable development and giving back to the communities we serve.

“We believe that thriving communities are the backbone of a progressive nation, and we are fully committed to promoting positive change,” he said.

For the record, the award ceremony which celebrates outstanding CSR efforts and recognises companies that are driving meaningful change in their communities was held in Kuala Lumpur.

The award ceremony was attended by Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.
