Singapore’s Jesseca Long crowned Miss Global Asian

During the prestigious finale night on January 27, Jesseca Long Yee Sia of Singapore and Dyan Shane Mag Abo of the Philippines were crowned 2024 Miss Global Asian and 2024 Mrs Global Asian, respectively.

Held at the Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur Bukit Jalil, another title, the 2024 Mrs Classic Global Asian, was also awarded to Joanne Lam from Malaysia.

This rapidly rising homegrown international pageant brand, which is now entering its second edition, was founded by Nickson Sim of Tiara Management from Kuching as well as Leo Raynold of Leading Management from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

This beauty pageant, which was established in 2023, celebrates Asian women from all walks of life and provides them the tools to realise their potential through opportunities for success and self-confidence-boosting experiences. These ladies can also use it as a platform to forge their own route towards changing the world.

A total of 25 contestants from 12 countries, including Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, India, Japan, Bangladesh, Singapore, and Malaysia, have descended upon Kuala Lumpur, the nation’s capital, since January 23 to take part in a number of events, sponsor visits, and preliminary rounds.

Among the panel of judges during the extraordinary night were Agnes Angie Martin (Pris Bridal Boutique fashion designer and 2022 Mrs Glam World Malaysia), Datin Mel Vianna Lai (entrepreneur and 2024 Mrs Global World Ambassador), Darsha Nair (2023 Miss Petite Global), Anne Rajasaikaran (Edumaax Education Group chief executive officer, Budimas Charitable Foundation principle officer, and 2022 Mrs Malaysia International Global), Jasrina Jasni (entrepreneur and 2024 Mrs Global International Ambassador), and Hannaritha Singa (entrepreneur and 2024 Mrs Global Grand Ambassador).

At the end of the ceremony, Long was crowned by the reigning 2023 Miss Global Asian, Gliyam Cundangan from the Philippines, while Shane was crowned by the reigning 2023 Mrs Global Asian, Kimi Tomas from Borneo.

As for Lam, she was crowned by the reigning 2023 Mrs Classic Global Asian, Catherine Roxas Rodrigo from the Philippines.

2024 Miss Global Asian

Long works as a corporate relationship manager in investment and wealth management.

With a stellar academic record from Taylor’s University and a background as a distinguished flight attendant with Singapore Airlines, Long symbolises independence, resilience, and a love for exploration. Her upbringing in a multicultural tapestry of Chinese, Filipino, and Spanish cultures shapes her proud identity, representing the harmonious blend that defines her.

Before settling in the Lion City, this 31-year-old Singaporean graced Malaysian beauty pageants and dabbled in modelling while pursuing her education.

Long views beauty pageants as a stage on which to present culture and beliefs and redefines beauty as a combination of grace and intelligence.

Being multilingual and skilled in navigating diverse cultures, she adds vibrancy to her dynamic life, effortlessly moving between Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Beyond her academic achievements and attractive appearance, she is gifted in music and dance. She practices yoga and belly dancing and has an advanced certificate in piano from Trinity College London.

Her path goes beyond her own accomplishments; she encourages Singaporeans to find comfort in singing, dancing, and engaging in hobbies while also advocating for mental health in a culture where stigma around mental illness endures.

As the 2024 Miss Global Asian, Long relentlessly advocates for compassion and empowerment, inspiring others and changing the world in a significant way.

2024 Mrs Global Asian

Shane is proud of her multifaceted background, which includes Filipino, Muslim, and Spanish ancestry.

Before delving into beauty pageants, this 29-year-old Filipino, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, enjoyed travel, did commercials and business ventures.

She sees pageants as a forum for endorsing brands, advocacies, and initiatives aimed at improving society in addition to providing a voice for women.

Her self-motivation, positive self-talk, and unwavering perseverance are the sources of her discipline and confidence. She fights for youth empowerment and financial knowledge with the goal of lowering unemployment and encouraging entrepreneurial spirit in her community.

2024 Mrs Classic Global Asian

Known for being the visionary behind Joanne Lam Image Consultancy and an award-winning certified image consultant, Lam is a notable personality in the fields of fashion and personal image.

Her illustrious career boasts numerous accolades, including representing Malaysia twice on the international pageant stage and the 2023 Woman in Business Award from the Federation of Business and Professional Women Malaysia.

Beyond her personal achievements, this 52-year-old Malaysian has a strong passion for developing talent and assisting the community of people with physical disabilities.

Serving as a respected judge in model and pageant competitions and volunteering her time, she empowers individuals, including those with Down syndrome, through runway fashion choreography.

Her charitable endeavours encompass funding fashion runway workshops as well as providing youngsters and young people with exceptional needs with priceless self-assurance. As evidence of her commitment to inclusivity and empowerment, Lam actively champions neuro-diverse special artists out of a sincere concern for the underprivileged.

Her influence goes beyond the fashion world, demonstrating her dedication to social responsibility and solidifying her status as a significant woman in the fields of philanthropy, fashion, and image.
