KUCHING: The Sarawak Scout Council has received a generous contribution from Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr. Sim Kui Hian, to support its development programmes.
The Political Secretary to the Premier, Kho Teck Wan, representing Dr. Sim, handed over the cheque to Peter Chai Mui Seng, chairman of the Executive Committee of the Sarawak Scout Council, at the organisation’s headquarters at Jalan Batu Lintang here today.
During the presentation, Chai highlighted the urgent necessity for enhanced facilities, including meeting halls and activity areas, to accommodate the growing number of students joining the scout movement.
Chai further pointed out the critical requirement for additional funds to realise these developmental projects for the Scout Council.
Moreover, in an additional show of support, Kho presented a cheque of RM10,000 to the scout troop of Chung Hua Middle School No. 1.
