Sum hands grants for JKKK in Ba’kelalan

LAWAS: Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, Dato Henry Sum Agong continues to channel government grants to the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), Offices and Clubs in Lawas parliament parliamentary constituency.

Sum, who is also Lawas Member of Parliament,was at a ceremony to hand over the government grants for JKKK Ba’kelalan area to the community leader and village chief of the area.

He then asked them to use the grants meant for the JKKK wisely.

The government’s aid is in line with the commitment of the Barisan Nasional (BN) government to continue to be with the people in every situation.

Government  aids for the people are not only channeled in the form of small and large development projects but also based on the request and needs of the parties involved to spend on activities and welfare.

Hence, he urged the people to appreciate government’s efforts in helping them all this while.

On the coming 14th general election he called for the voters not to be easily deceived by seditious or untrue news spread through social media.

At the same time he stressed that the bill to tackle the spread of defamatory messages has been approved along with the redelineation of the states in peninsular Malaysia.

In Sarawak, he urged all voters to continue to give the mandate to  state leaders under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Haji Openg who has been fighting for the state’s rights in the pursuit of Tok Nan’s struggle.

“Support for Sarawak BN candidates is a sign of our support for Abang Johari’s leadership and the Prime Minister at the federal government,” he said.

Also present were Temenggong Kading Silo, Penghulu Davis Parag and community leaders from Ba’kelalan and Trusan areas.
