KUCHING: The Sibu Sacred Heart Secondary School Alumni Association of Kuching held its 33rd annual general meeting (AGM) via video conference on Saturday night (Aug 8).

According to a press release on Sunday (Aug 9), the original AGM was scheduled to be held at the association’s resource centre.

It was replaced by a virtual AGM as a precautionary measure to reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19 among the members.

Its president, Nicholas Hu said the association had also cancelled its annual reunion dinner which was scheduled to take place in October this year.

“We feel sad that we cannot hold the annual reunion dinner this year as the event has always given our members the opportunity to strengthen the fellowship among us all.

“However, we hope that next year, we will be able to hold our reunion dinner in Kuching once more when the situation is safer for everyone to gather,” he said during the meeting.

During the meeting, the association reappointed last year’s committee members for another term.
