KUCHING: The Ora Et Labora Run continues to embody the spirit of the Josephian family, fostering unity, community engagement, and the celebration of enduring bonds formed within the school’s walls.

Under the theme “I Run of St Joseph’s,” the Old Josephians Association (OJA) Kuching organised the 6th edition of the Ora Et Labora Run on Saturday (Oct 7).

A remarkable 1,300 participants took part, including students from the St Joseph’s Family of Schools, alumni, and members of the public.

The event featured two categories: a 5km Fun Run and a competitive 10km run, each open to both men and women. Deputy Premier and OJA president Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, had the honour of flagging off the run.

“We have three schools in the St Joseph’s Family of Schools, namely SMK St Joseph, St Joseph Private School and St Joseph International School.

“This is unique and only in Sarawak, we have this kind of set-up where we have SMK St Joseph being a government aided school while St Joseph Private School and St Joseph International School are both private schools.

The event’s success was made possible by the generous support of sponsors and partners, including Platinum Sponsor Sarawak Energy Berhad, Gold Sponsors Saradise Sdn Bhd and Lee Onn Development Sdn Bhd, and Silver Sponsors Sarawak Economic Development Corporation, Perunding Iskfit, Resources Surveys Services, and Yen Yen Birdnest.

100 PLUS served as the Official Isotonic Partner, with Revolution Run Borneo and Kuching Happy Runner Club as the main event partners.

In addition to the satisfaction of completing the run, all participants received finisher medals from Medal Depot. For the 10km competitive run, the top 10 finishers in each category were awarded cash prizes, with Andy Yeo and Hii Pik Hie emerging as the top winners in the men’s and women’s open categories, respectively.
