Pang (4th left) leads in the party’s war cry ‘Sa’ati’ with branch members.

BINTULU: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bintulu branch chairman, Johnny Pang, has issued a stern reminder to party members following the narrow victory in recapturing the Tanjong Batu state seat during the 12th state election.

Pang said that the seat, contested under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) ticket, was won by a mere 23-vote difference.

“In the last state election, we were only 23 votes ahead of our opponent. This serves as a warning that we cannot afford to take things lightly,” he said.

He said this during the flag raising ceremony held at the Tanjong Batu Service Centre on Sunday (June 4), which marked the 64th anniversary of SUPP.

As the Tanjong Batu assemblyman, Pang acknowledged the people’s decision to give SUPP an opportunity the responsibility to serve the community and the country.

“To remain relevant, maintaining unity within the party is crucial,” Pang added. He also said the branch members must uphold SUPP’s good reputation and image, which in turn would foster trust from the public.

“Our party is dedicated to serving the people on the ground, not just through empty words. We genuinely work hard to make a difference,” Pang asserted.

Additionally, Pang called upon party members to continue embracing the ‘Sa’ati’ and ‘Sarawak First’ slogans as a source of inspiration to provide exemplary service to the community.
